Visual character
Layered and tactile, with a naturally cleft surface, fine mineral sheen and visible stratification that gives slate its architectural depth.
Typical colors and movement
Ranges from charcoal, graphite and silver-grey to rust, copper, sand and green. Movement follows the stone's natural layers, from fine linear striations to sweeping bands.
Appropriate design applications
Suited to feature walls, fireplaces, columns, curved surfaces, hospitality interiors, furniture and selected exterior applications where a textured natural finish is wanted.
Natural variation
Color, layering, sheen and surface texture vary from sheet to sheet and within a sheet. Review samples and plan sheet layout before installation.
General handling characteristics
Lightweight compared with solid stone and flexible enough for suitable curves. Handle sheets carefully to protect the natural surface and edges.
